MISSION STATEMENT

Founded in September 2017, the Eden Prairie Autism Awareness Club (EP Blue Birds) is dedicated to breaking the negative stereotypes surrounding students with ASD. Unfortunately, the word 'autistic' is commonly associated with the words 'retarded' and 'stupid' within our society. Due to this negative connotation, many people tend to use autism as an insult to hurt others without realizing the hurt it does to affected individuals.

EP Blue Birds strongly believes that spreading awareness by educating our peers is the key to tackle this societal problem. By organizing fundraisers, discussions, and speakers, we believe that student involvement in learning about autism is the first step towards a more accepting society.
